Accepted proof of proficiency: FCE, CAE or CPE, IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+

You must show that your understanding and expression of English is sufficient to complete your course. Requirements vary by course and level, but the good news is, you don’t have to wait to reach the required level before you apply.

Here’s what you need:

IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
For some undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, you need:

IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
For MPhil/PhD postgraduate research degrees, you need:

IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component
For many of our extended degree programmes, you will need:

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
